Five of Us

Paul Davie - Bass, Vocals, Piano, Beer Drinker/Draft Dodger
The leader of this band was born in 1965, so Paul had to grow up on his older brothers’ British Invasion records...which makes The Fab Five - A Beatles Tribute Band his ‘dream come true’! Paul’s vintage 1965 HOFNER ‘Beatle Bass’ (production # 165 - the 16th week of 1965...his birthday week!) provides a look and sound to the group like no other instrument can. He sings most of John Lennon's parts, and even adds some harmonica work to songs like ‘I Should Have Known Better’.
Paul also plays piano for the group (as Charlie switches to Bass) when The Fab Five back up British Rock legends from THE HOLLIES & BADFINGER. It's exciting for him to re-produce Elton John's part for "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" and Paul McCartney's classic piano work on "Come & Get It", written exclusively for Badfinger. For him, it's like playing in The Super Bowl AND The Masters!

Since moving to the Syracuse area in 1987, he has seen action with Double Down, The 8 Track Players, Request and Revolver. Paul’s career in radio promotions has helped introduce him to BEATLEMANIA, MANFRED MANN, JAMES TAYLOR, JOHN LENNON's ORIGINAL QUARRYMEN, PETER NOONE, THE SEARCHERS, ALAN PARSONS, TODD RUNDGREN, and even his bass playing idol, JOHN ENTWISTLE of THE WHO.

Charlie Kraebel - Guitar(s), Bass, Vocals, Amplifier Fryer
When the Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan show on February 9, 1964, Charlie knew that his "calling" in life was to be a musician. He was 12 years old at the time, and his motivation was the prospect of thousands of adoring & screaming girls madly in love with him!! However, that eventually changed. Today, he is a musician just because he loves it. As Willie Nelson put it, "I love making music with my friends." (But don't worry, Uncle Sam...unlike Willie, Charlie actually PAYS his taxes!)
Charlie plays guitar like John Lennon, can pick out a nice lead like George Harrison, and at times, sounds just like Sir Paul McCartney. Terry Sylvester of THE HOLLIES depends on him to hit those high notes on his classics 'Carrie Anne' and 'He Ain't Heavy' when The Fabs back him up. He also doubles on bass when Paul switches to piano.
Born & raised in Buffalo NY, Charlie played in various bands throughout the Western NY area since the 8th grade...rock bands, night club bands, disco bands & oldies bands. But, he has always yearned to play in a Beatles/ British Invasion Band. Finally, after 40 years, he's playing the music that originally got him 'into the business'. The Fab Five is a dream come true for for Charlie, and he looks forward to bringing the joy and fun of the Beatles & other British Invasion group to all of our fans and friends.

Pat Hodson - Lead Guitar, Vocals, Rocks On Vox
Pat’s early exposure to music was listening to his older brothers perform the music of the mid-sixties. Wanting to be a drummer early on, he settled for guitar when he inherited his older brother's guitar...because THAT brother took up the drums! A quick study, it wasn’t long before his renditions of Hendrix, Cream and Led Zeppelin went far beyond all the guitar players around him.

His influences cover a wide range of styles, including British invasion bands in his formative years. Progressive rock bands and fusion jazz music became a passion later on.

Pat is a versatile musician and finds great enjoyment in performing, which allows him to develop guitar AND vocal skills. He has opted to perform with a number of popular bands, performing a wide range of styles and venues.

His respect of the British Invasion sound makes him the perfect "George Harrison" for The Fab Five. Being the newest member of the Fab Five Family, Pat was the right guy at the right time to complete the ensemble. He's thrilled to be part of the team...just ask him...and he'll probably respond with his popular catch phrase..."HOLY CRAP!!"

Joe Donelan - Vocals, Guitar(s), Key(s), 'America's Oldest Teenager' runner-up
Music made its' first impression on Joe sometime in the late 50's (which means Joe is in direct competition with Dick Clark as "World's Oldest Teenager"!!) His Mom used to play "TOP 40 AM radio" while he was getting ready for school. She always encouraged him to take up an instrument. All he had to do was hear Boots Randolph on that radio once, and his choice was a 'No-Brainer'. So, sax lessons began for Young Joe Donelan at 9 years old! Not only a fine vocalist who can hit the high notes with ease, he's a guitarist and percussionist, too. So Joe definitely gets the nod for Most Versatile Player!
Joe most notable stints in Syracuse include - Bib 'n' Tucker, Flashback, Chemistry, Holy Smoke in the 70's/80's and he's currently with The Sharp Dressed Penguins and The Rhythm Monsters. Collectively, these groups have shared the stage with regional acts Jukin' Bone, Elf, 805, & Dove and national acts FLEETWOOD MAC, SLADE, JOHNNY RIVERS, and STEPPENWOLF. Quite impressive to say the least!

Tim Breezee - Drums, Vintage Ludwigs, Witness Protection Program Applicant At an early age, music became an obsession with Tim Breezee. His Mom first introduced bluegrass & traditional country music. By eight, he started to blow some mean tunes on his Mom’s clarinet. Then at 12 years old, Tim’s tapping and stomping in rhythm every song on the radio became unstoppable! Since Ritalin hadn’t been invented yet…becoming a drummer was the next logical step, as there was no market for clarinet players in rock & roll.

In high school, Tim was active in the Jazz, Concert & Marching Bands. But after graduation, he soon had his marching orders, and joined the Army. In his last year of service, he joined the 113th Army Band where he developed valuable skills in drums and percussion. (Of course, the alternative to playing correctly was peeling potatoes during R&R….smart choice, Tim!) But then the REAL R&R called – Rock & Roll – and after his hitch was over, Tim bought a cool looking set of ’67 Ludwigs, and started playing with various garage bands.

Family duty soon called, and he put the drums on furlough for 18 years. But after catching his pal, Papa Joe Donelan in action with The Fabs at Oldiesfest 2006, Tim decided it was time to bring the Ludwigs out of retirement. The timing was perfect, as their regular drummer was suddenly forced into retirement with a career-ending injury. The Beatles and British Invasion sound is his favorite genre of music, so Tim is a perfect fit for The Fab Five - A Beatles Tribute Band. We welcome Tim with eight arms wide open to take the band to the next level.
